The Skill to Weld Certification is our signature programme within the Astrid & Miyu Jewellery Academy. We are the original welded bracelet, the first brand to launch permanent jewellery in the UK. It only felt right to formalise the craft and set an industry standard for training the A&M way. The Skill to Weld Certification is fully verified by The Goldsmiths' Centre. Founded by The Goldsmiths' Company with over 700 years of history, the Goldsmiths' Centre is the UK's leading body for the professional training, support, and community within the goldsmithing, silversmithing, and trades.

TEAM STORIES
-
The jewellery academy had a great hands-on approach that quickly got me comfortable using new tools and techniques. I love being able to not only curate, but also create pieces for my clients stacks.

FAQs
-
What happens after I complete the academy?
Graduates leave the academy with welding as an additional skill alongside their existing role. In-store welding opportunities will continue to be managed alongside business needs and customer experience standards, with dedicated Jewellers remaining priority owners of welding appointments during shifts. The academy is designed to expand capability across our teams while continuing to protect the quality and expertise of our specialist Jeweller roles.
-
Will I be able to weld in store afterwards?
Yes. Graduates leave the Jewellery Academy with welding as an additional skill alongside their existing role, allowing them to support permanent jewellery appointments in-store and earn up to 5% commission on appointments. This includes our core permanent jewellery offering (excluding anklets). Jewellers remain as priority owners of welding appointments when on shift.
-
What's the pass rate?
Based on our pilot programme, the current pass rate is approximately 80%. Some team members may require additional practical training, self-directed learning, or more time developing confidence before successfully completing certification. Our focus is on quality over speed, ensuring every graduate is confident in delivering the A&M welding experience to the highest standard.
-
Is this training only for select roles?
Anyone who works in stores can apply to join the next academy training. Priority roles are stylists and supervisors.
